Directions
This spicy cheesy ramen is a quick-fix comfort meal that is made in just one pot and only takes minutes to make.
We all have our favorite ramen preferences, whether it’s Shin Ramen, Buldak, or Top Ramen.
There are hundreds of varieties and flavors available and after trying a few, I really like the Rose Buldak flavor!
What makes a good ramen is the water to noodle and seasoning ratio.
I personally hold back on some of the spicy soup sauce as well as the water as I do not want too much broth.
Alternatively, you can skip the spicy sauce packet and use 1-2 Tablespoons of gochujang for that spicy and slightly sweet kick.
Topping it with grated cheese will take your ramen to the next level.
Use a cheese that melts nicely like a low-moisture mozzarella or gouda.
Gouda cheese has a bit more flavor and pairs well with the spicy ramen.
For a it of green and a fresh bite, add thinly sliced green onion.
Steamed baby bok choy or broccoli are also great additions if you’d like to add a vegetable.
To make this a complete and filling meal, I like adding a hard boiled egg.
A 7-minute egg that is hard boiled but still has a slight jiggle to the yolk is my personal preference.

Steps
1 Done | Get a PotHeat pot on medium heat then add the oil and crushed garlic. Sauté for just 30 seconds or until lightly fragrant then add the contents of the ramen packet - the spicy sauce and soup mix. Stir to combine then add water. Start with 1 cup of water and add more as desired. Next, add the ramen noodles. Cover the pot, heat to medium-high and allow to gently boil to cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Usually 3-4 minutes. Once the timer is up, remove the lid, gently stir the ramen noodles to break them up and taste. Add more water if desired. Turn off the heat. |
2 Done | Add The Cheese and ToppingsAdd the grated cheese over the ramen. The smaller the shred of the cheese, the faster it will melt. Cover the pot to allow the cheese to melt, about 1-2 minutes. Garnish with thinly sliced green onion and a soft boiled egg, if desired. Eat straight out of the pot or transfer to a bowl. Use chopsticks and a spoon to eat. |
