Pear Ginger Clove Simple Syrup
- 3 whole Cloves
- 2 large slices Fresh Ginger Root
- 1 cubed Pear
- 4 ounces Water
- 4 ounces Sugar
- 4 cubed Pears
- 4 Tablespoons Water
Cocktail Ratio for 1 Serving
- 4 Ice Cubes
- 1 ounce Pear Puree
- 0.5 ounce Pear Ginger Clove Simple Syrup
- 0.75 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 ounces Gin
This pretty pear cocktail is the perfect fall and winter drink!
All you need are 5 ingredients and a bit of prep to make a flavor-packed simple syrup and pear puree.
For the pear puree, you just need ripe pear and a splash of water. Blend it up then strain.
The homemade pear, ginger and clove infused simple syrup is a game changer and easy to make.
I personally prefer this cocktail with gin but you can also use vodka! Plain or vanilla infused vodka pairs really well with pear.
After the ingredients are prepped, it’s all added to a cocktail shaker with ice.
It is then poured over a large ice cube in a short glass.
If you prefer it a bit sparkly, add it to a tall glass with sparkling water or tonic!
Like most of my recipes, this one is customizable as well.
If you are hosting a party you can also make a big batch of this in advance.
Keeping the same ratios, add all of the ingredients to a large jug then add batches to your cocktail shaker with ice, shake and pour as you are serving.
Since this is a pretty pear cocktail, I recommend garnishing with thin slices of fresh pear or ginger!

Make the Pear Ginger Clove Simple Syrup
To a small sauce pan, add the whole cloves and ginger slices.
Allow to toast and get fragrant on medium heat for a few minutes.
Next, lower the heat to low and add the cubed pear and stir.
Now add the water and sugar.
Turn off the heat, stir to melt the sugar then cover and remove from the heat.
Allow the flavors to infuse for 20-30 minutes.
Lastly, strain the syrup and allow to cool completely before pouring into a glass jar and seal with an air-tight lid.
This syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
To make the pear puree, add the cubed pear and water to a blende and blend until smooth.
Next, strain the mixture. Use a spoon the get the puree through the fine-mesh strainer.
Pour the puree into a glass jar and seal with an air-tight lid.
This puree can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Make The Cocktail
Start by adding ice cubes to a cocktail shaker then add the pear puree, syrup, fresh lemon juice, and gin (or vodka).
Shake well until the shaker is cold then pour into your desired cocktail glass over ice and garnish with sliced pear or ginger.
