There is nothing better than pizza muffins with tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni!

Although these are super kids-friendly, I created this recipe with The-Super-Bowl or any big sports event in mind!

No matter the occasion, I guarantee nobody will be able to resist these individually sized pizzas!

These pizza muffins are made with homemade dough but store bought works just as well!

Once the dough is ready and rolled out, circles are cut out to fit the muffin mold.

You can use round biscuit cutter or if you do not own any, like me, you can use wide-mouth mason jar lids!

After the pizza dough circles are planed into the muffin pan, the fun begins.

These pizza muffins are filled with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni for that classic look and taste.

I have also tested this with vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni slices and omg – also so good!

You can use any cheese you like, as well as any meat and even add chopped vegetables.

The possibilities for pizza muffins is endless, so make them your own!

The pizza muffins come out light, fluffy and soft on the inside with a cheese and slightly crispy topping!

Steps

1
Done

Let's Talk Dough

No matter if you are using homemade dough or store-bought pizza dough, allow the dough to rest on your kitchen counter for at least 1 hour so it comes up to room temperature.

This will allow the dough to relax and make it easier to handle.

2
Done

Roll Out The Dough

First, preheat your oven to 400°F.

On a clean and floured surface, roll out the dough until it's about 1/4 inch in thickness.

Using a 3-inch cookie cutter or a wide-mouth mason jar lid, punch out 12 pizza dough rounds.

3
Done

Prep Muffin Pan

Using a pastry brush, lightly oil the bottom and sides of the muffin pan with olive or avocado oil.

4
Done

Fill The Muffin Pan

Grab each pizza dough round and by pressing and twisting, lightly stretch the pizza dough rounds then place them into the muffin tin so it comes up the sides and forms a cup shape.

Add a bit of grated cheese then top with pizza sauce, 2 slices of pepperoni and top with more cheese.

Lightly press in the fillings into the dough.

5
Done

Bake

To avoid any cheese spillage, place the muffin pan onto a large baking sheet.

Bake the pizza muffins in your preheated oven at 400°F for 20-23 minutes.

The cheese should be nice and melted and the dough will be fully baked through.

6
Done

Serve

Allow the pizza muffins to cool in the muffin pan for 3-5 minutes before eating.

Top the pizza muffins with fresh basil if desired!
