This pineapple kiwi gin and tonic takes a tropical spin on the classic!

You can easily make just 1 serving or a big batch of this cocktail.

The pineapple adds sweetness and kiwi is the perfect tart and sour note in this gin and tonic.

The two fruits also give visual play to this drink.

The gin and tonic cocktail was introduced by the army of the British East India Company in India in the 1700s!

A good quality gin is what takes any gin and tonic to the next level.

Gin is made by distillation from a base of grain, usually wheat or barley. Botanicals along with water are added until the desired flavors are met. To be called a Gin, the Spirit must have a predominant flavor of Juniper berries.

Once a discovered gin, I never wanted to look at vodka ever again!

In my college days, my go to drink was a vodka soda. Fast forward a few years and more experience with cocktails later…

I appreciate the simplicity of a gin and tonic but I always love a bit of a fruit aspect.

This cocktail does work well with tequila or vodka, if that’s more your speed.

Steps

1
Done

Muddle The Fruit

Add the cubed pineapple and kiwi to a tall glass or bowl then muddle well until the fruit is broken down and there is a good amount of fruit juice.

2
Done

Fill Up Your Glasses

Add ice cubes to your glasses then add the muddled fruit juices and a couple of teaspoons of the muddled fruit.

Next add about 1.5 ounces of gin (that's one shot) to each glass and top it off with tonic water.

Stir with a straw and garnish with a fruit skewer if desired!

Okay, two of my favourite fruits with my favourite spirit in one drink!!! Can’t say no to that. Looking forward to making this on the weekend.

I have yet to meet a G&T I don’t adore, but this one may be my new favorite. Can not wait to try!

This drink is everything summer should be. First off, I’ve never been a real G&T fan, but my spouse is, so I had to try! I had pineapple juice and a sungold kiwi so my drink is very golden! It was perfect!
