Cozy, sweet and gently spiced golden milk latte.
Have you ever seen this latte on the menu of a coffee shop and wondered what they add to make it golden?
Turmeric is a magical ingredient. Not only does it add the most beautiful yellow hue to any food, it is a versatile and nutritious spice.
Many high-quality studies show that turmeric has major benefits for your body and brain. Many of these benefits come from its main active ingredient, curcumin. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.
The turmeric plant is native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia and can be purchased fresh or ground.
You can use either for this latte recipe but I prefer ground turmeric as it dissolves perfectly into the warm milk.
To enhance the flavor, I also add ground ginger and cinnamon. A little goes a long way here.
For sweetener, I love honey but you can also use coconut sugar, maple syrup or agave!
As I always prefer my milk to be dairy free, I love using unsweetened oat or almond milk for this recipe.
To make it a latte, you gotta add espresso. I am using two capsules of Besso Coffee, a single-origin Columbian coffee.
Besso uses hand picked coffee berries that are from exotic farms in the Huila region of Colombia. Their specialty espresso beans are amongst some of the most rich and distinct tasting beans you can find in Colombia.
This recipe is sponsored by Besso Coffee.

Each sleeve comes with 10 capsules that contain freshly roasted coffee beans that are finely ground then sealed air-tight in a dual aluminum capsule. This results in a simple, consistent and delicious espresso.
The coffee beans are from the Hulia region is Colombia which is unique for its complex terrain nestled along the Magdalena River. A superior espresso is created by the region's rich volcanic soil and high altitude.
