About Maca Powder

Maca is a root grown in the mountains of Peru and some call it the Peruvian Ginseng.

Maca is rich in vitamin B, C, and E and also provides plenty of calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium and amino acids.

Adding this superfood to your diet helps with overall health including bones, teeth, skin, energy, and mood balance!

Your body does take a bit to get used to this superfood, so start out by only adding 1 tsp.

Hi Joni,

Thank you for this amazing recipe. I’ve been looking for one with Maca, that doesn’t involve the addition of yoghurt or milk – this looks perfect!

I am looking forward to trying it today.

I am wondering could this be made in advance for the following day? I would like to make one for today and one for tomorrow. Or would the maca powder go a bit funny in the fridge?

Hi Charlene, yes this smoothie can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge. Just give it a shake to re-emulsify as it might separate a bit as it sits.
