This easy everything bagels recipe requires 6 ingredients and about 45 minutes to make!

If you are in the mood for bagels but don’t feel like leaving the house, spending the money on takeout and fuss about in the kitchen for hours, give this recipe a try.

I love all things bread and when that weekend morning bagel craving hits, this is my go-to.

The secret to these quick and easy bagels is Greek yogurt.

It’s what creates the dough, along with all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. That’s it!

You can also use bread flour.

Of course you will also need everything bagel seasoning, though it’s completely optional.

You can mix the dough by hand in a large mixing bowl but I recommend using a standing mixer with the dough hook attachment, if you have it.

Allowing the mixer with the dough hook to mix the dough will save you from elbow grease to thoroughly mix the dough and allow for that gluten structure to form.

Once the dough ball comes together and is smooth, you’ll just need to evenly divide the dough and form the bagel shape.

I like doing this by rolling the dough into thicker ropes then shaping them into an ‘O’ shape to make the bagel.

As the bagels bake in the oven, they will expand slightly.

To give the bagels that golden hue, I add egg wash right before sticking them into the oven.

The egg wash also helps with the everything bagel seasoning from properly sticking to the tops of the bagel.

These easy bagels come out slightly soft but with a beautiful outside crust.

For a more crunchy texture, simply slice the bagels in half and toast for about 2 minutes.

These bagels are great for breakfast, lunch or as a snack!

The best way to store any leftovers is by slicing them in half, storing them in a freezer safe container or bag and freeze them for up to 2 months.

Simply toast the frozen bagels to bring them back to life.

Steps

1
Done

Preheat oven to 375°F

While the oven preheats, make the dough.

Add the flour, Greek yogurt, baking powder, and salt to a large mixing bowl or standing mixer with the dough hook attachment.

Mix well until a dough forms and is smooth.

2
Done

Shape then Bake

Place the dough onto a clean and lightly floured work surface then roll into a log.

Cut the dough into 6 equal pieces then roll each piece into a thinner log and form into bagel shape.

Pinch the ends together so that the bagel does not come apart.

Place the bagels onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper then brush each bagel with egg wash (whisked egg) on all exposed sides.

Next, sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning. Use whatever amount your heart desires.

Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.

3
Done

Cool and Serve

Gently move the bagels onto a wire rack to cool a bit.

Enjoy the bagels as they or toast for crispier texture.
