Easy, 4-ingredient bright pink dragon fruit smoothie bowl!

Summer months call for smoothies! And a smoothie in a bowl with toppings is not only pretty but it makes it even more fun to eat!

If you are not familiar with dragon fruit, it is a tropical fruit that has become increasingly popular in recent years.

Dragon fruit grows on the Hylocereus cactus, also known as the Honolulu queen, whose flowers only open at night.

The plant is native to southern Mexico and Central America. Today, it is grown all over the world.

You may also know it as pitaya, pitahaya, or strawberry pear.

This beautiful fruit has high amounts of fiber and magnesium and is considered to be a highly nutrient-dense fruit.

Drag fruit is not particularly sweet which is why I add banana to this smoothie bowl.

All smoothie bowls need toppings for texture and crunch!

You can add any toppings you like or have on hand but I love adding more fruit on top as well as nuts and coconut flakes and hemp seeds.

Oat granola is another great topping as it ads crunch and fiber!

The Ingredients

If you want your smoothie bowl to be very cold, use frozen bananas.

You can peel and slice the banana then store them in a freezer-safe bag and freeze for a minimum of 1 hour.

Hemp seeds are a great source of protein, healthful fatty acids, and fiber. This ingredient is optional but recommended.

You can use any type of milk you like. I always have homemade almond milk on hand and prefer the flavor.

Get Your Blender

Add all of the smoothie ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth.
