Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon, sifted Matcha Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Filtered Water
- 1 cup Dairy Free Milk
- 1 shot Espresso
- 1 teaspoon Sweetener/Simple Syrup
- optional Ice Cubes
Directions
Caffeine packed, earthy and slightly sweet dirt matcha latte.
This drink is my two favorite drinks combined, matcha and espresso with milk.
Matcha is finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves, traditionally consumed in East Asia and produced in Japan!
The best matcha powder for drinks is ceremonial grade matcha powder.
It is the highest quality grade of matcha that is vibrant green, sweet and slightly grassy.
A high quality matcha powder can have a high price tag, however, after trying a few out there on the market, it is worth every penny!
For the espresso, I am using single-origin Colombia espresso by Besso Coffee.
Besso uses hand picked coffee berries that are from exotic farms in the Huila region of Colombia. Their specialty espresso beans are amongst some of the most rich and distinct tasting beans you can find in Colombia.
For the milk, I prefer using a non-dairy alternative like oat milk!
It’s incredibly creamy and pairs so well with both the match and the espresso.
Since I live in Florida and it is hot most days, I prefer my drinks over ice but you can also make this a hot dirty matcha!
Steps
1 Done | Get a Tall GlassAdd the sifted matcha powder to your glass along with the water and mix well. I use a hand-held frothed but you can also mix the matcha powder and water with a bamboo whisk or regular whisk in a small bowl. Next, add the ice cubes, followed by milk, sweetener of your choice (if you are adding), and the espresso. Stir with a straw and enjoy! |
