Sweet, airy whipped dalgona coffee foam!

Who remembers the coffee foam trend during quarantine?

This recipe originated from South Korea and everyone on all social media platforms went crazy over it!

To make this dalgona coffee, all you need are 3 ingredients, a bowl and a whisk.

It’s best to use an electric whisk to speed things up a bit.

As air is whipped into the ingredients, food science magic happens.

It starts out as a dark and sweet coffee liquid that triples in size and turns into a foam!

The 3 ingredients you need are instant coffee, sugar and water.

Because of this drink, everyone now has instant coffee in their kitchen pantry, myself included.

Since this recipe is super simple, I recommend getting the best instant coffee you can find.

Organic, fair trade instant coffee is the best option.

I always have homemade almond milk on hand and use it to make this drink but any milk will work!

For the sugar, I prefer coconut sugar or pure cane. It gives the coffee foam a caramel-taste and it’s not too sweet.

Make this dalgona coffee recipe with homemade almond milk!

Add the instant coffee, sugar and hot water to a large bowl and mix with an electric hand-mixer until light and foamy. About 2 minutes.

You can also use a whisk but it will take about 7 minutes of constant mixing to achieve the same result.
