Crispy and salty kale chips.
Kale chips is something you have to experience in order to understand it.
It’s kind of like ASMR, actually it is ASMR!! If you don’t know what I’m talking about google ASMR really quickly or head over to my Instagram, I have highlight story dedicated to it!
Ok back to the kale…
Kale is a popular vegetable and a member of the cabbage family. It is a cruciferous vegetable like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens and Brussels sprouts.
There are many different types of kale. The leaves can be green or purple, and have either a smooth or curly shape. All work great in this recipe.
Dark leafy greens are an excellent source of vitamin C, can help lower cholesterol, and it the world’s best source of vitamin K!
Fortunately, adding kale to your diet is relatively simple.
Besides the fact that dark leafy greens like kale are so healthy, they also make for an excellent chip!
You just need 3 ingredients really, kale, olive oil and salt.
I like adding a bit of nutritional yeast and/or everything seasoning to amp up the flavor.
The crispness you will experience is out of this world and super addictive, promise!

Steps
1 Done | Prep The KaleFirst, preheat your oven to 350°F. Next, wash your kale leaves then dry them well. If the kale leaves are wet, they will steam rather than roast in the oven. Using a knife, cut out the middle stem from the kale leaves and discard. Cut the kale into big bite size pieces. The kale pieces will shrink a lot while roasting so keep the pieces bigger rather than smaller. |
2 Done | Add Kale To Roasting SheetAdd the kale pieces to a rimmed baking sheet. You can add parchment paper, but it is not necessary. Only about half of the kale will fit onto one baking sheet, do not overcrowd the sheet. Next, drizzle the kale with 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil and season with a bit of salt and black pepper (if desired). Using your hands lightly toss the kale in the olive oil and salt so that every piece of kale is evenly coated. Spread out the kale leaves evenly in one even layer. |
3 Done | RoastRoast the kale in your preheated 350°F oven for 10 minutes. The kale will look a bit limp but I promise they are crispy! Use a spatula to see if they are crispy. After the kale chips come out of the oven, season with nutritional yeast, everything seasoning r any other seasoning you like! Allow the kale chips to cool for a couple of minutes before eating. |
