Easy, 5 minute breakfast blueberry smoothie.

This recipe only has 5 ingredients, is vegan and is packed with superfoods.

For busy mornings when you don’t have a lot of time to make breakfast, smoothies are a great option.

You can pack a ton of nutrition into a small glass.

The only downside with morning smoothies is that we tend to add in a lot of sugar.

Those sugars spike the blood sugar level and then we crash early in the day.

Here is the smoothie solution that won’t spike your blood sugar and will keep you fuller longer!

I always have blueberries on hand and usually have a handful every morning.

Blueberries are packed with fiber, vitamins and minerals like vitakin K1, vitamin C and magnese.

These small and sweet berries are so powerful as they help with brain health and can help control our blood sugars.

Adding bananas to this smoothie adds sweetness and also a healthy carb which gives the body energy!

You might not think to add oats to a smoothie but it adds body as well as nutritional benefits.

Oats are full of great fiber and protein.

For a max superfood impact, adding ground flaxseeds is the way to go!

Flax seeds contain protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.

It is important to use ground flax seeds as whole flax seeds cannot be absorbed by the body.

Grab Your Blender

Start by adding the liquid to your blender then add the remaining ingredients and blend on high until smooth.

I tend to always have frozen blueberries and frozen banana slices in my freezer and love using that for a bit of a colder smoothie which wakes me up.

Hi Joni,

Any suggestions for almond milk substitutions for the Blueberry Smoothie? I am allergic to almonds. Thanks and keep the great recipes coming!
